Christmas Morning

Santa brought Sam a pooping raindeer

Rachel got a doll and I sewed her and her doll matching pajamas, it may have taken 3+ days to do it - but it was fun.

We also got socker boppers - and after we duked it out for a while, Sam had just as much fun doing this

The Fam
(Sam is wearing a snuggie Rachel got him, which for the record, makes a lot of static too- in case anyone else has been wondering what they are like)

Sam's parents came to town

They were quite the troopers - it was MUCH colder than what they are used to - and the elevation is much higher, where we live it is at about 7500 feet, and the base of the ski resort is at 10,300 feet and the top of the mountain is 11,900.   Even with all this stacked against them - they survived a day skiing :)

There was over 25 inches of fresh powder - which just added to the challenge, and the fun

Rachel and I spent one afternoon determined to build a snowman.  The snow was so dry we had to work really hard to make it happen, we used spray bottles and watering cans to wet the snow enough to make it stick, the only problem was it quickly turned to ice, so when we got to the head and we were trying to make a face we could get any rocks to go into the solid block of ice, so we took some leaves and speared them with toothpicks for the eyes and the mouth.  Good Times!

Skiing

So one of the main reasons we were drawn to Colorado is for the skiing - Wolf Creek Ski resort is just over an hour away.  Snow was lacking of Thanksgiving break - so when they started getting some storms roll through at the beginning of december we were very happy.
Any day with lots of snow in your beard is a great day
