master bathroom makeover

I procrastinate.  So much so, that I lived in this house for a year with a hideous brown/rust color on the walls in the master bedroom and some hideous fish wallpaper in the master bathroom.  My biggest problem was not knowing what color I wanted it to be, so I just kept putting it off.  But, after our 3 year break on the rez, we made a plan to take care of some top priorities while the house was empty before we moved in, and got wrapped up in other things.
**Just to clarify -- these problem areas were left to us by the previous owners, not by the previous tenants (aka Sam's brother and his wife.)  Just want to set the record straight.

My mom and my sister came out to my house for a few days each and we started tackling the most important projects.

Project#1--Remove fish wallpaper from bathroom.  I forgot to take a before picture --so these were taken mid-project.  There was blue fish/ocean wallpaper up the whole wall...and the CEILING!!! Ugh! who wallpapers a ceiling???  (more on that later...but fyi--it is the same people who paint ceilings).  The yellow color is the backing/glue that was left after we ripped the top layer of paper off.
C'mon Lacie--don't just smile--show us how your really feel about this wallpaper--

Oh yea, that's more like it-- EEEWWWWW!!
Now you can smile :) ...if only we would have known it was going to take 2 more days to get the rest of it off we would not have been quite so happy at this point.
(we scored the paper, bought the "wallpaper remover spray",  and then resorted to also trying every tip we found on the internet-fabric softener, vinegar, water, a steamer.. but basically spent days scraping every little piece off--we never found a miracle to help us pull this layer off in sheets.
Lesson learned:  Never wallpaper ...ever.

AFTER:  (the pillows are a joke...mostly, the bedroom will be the same color and I love these pillows and was dying to see what they would look like with the paint.    FABULOUS!)

Project #2:  Paint Master bedroom  (which included also painting the ceiling and the baseboards because not only was the color ugly, but they did it so sloppily they got it all over the place.)

mid-project

After!!!
Paint Color-from Lowes, Valspar: "Gull"  (a high-def. color with paint and primer)

Very excited about the way it turned out.
Love.
